Privacy policy
We collect as little as we can. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking cookies. This page says exactly what we do handle, and why.
Who we are

Visiting kohulabs.com
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details (browser, page requested). We don’t add analytics or advertising.
A few preferences are kept in your own browser and never sent to us: light or dark mode and your language (cleared when you close the tab), and, in the client portal, your dashboard layout.
The assistant
The Signal, the assistant on our site and portal, runs entirely in your browser with prepared answers. What you type to it is not sent to us or to any AI service.
Emailing us, and call requests
If you ask the assistant to book a call, it prepares an email in your own email app. Nothing is sent until you press send. When you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and what you write. We use it only to reply and to arrange and prepare the conversation you asked for (legal basis: steps you asked for before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in answering you).
We keep that correspondence for as long as the conversation continues. If we don’t end up working together, we delete it within 24 months of our last contact. If we do, it is kept as part of the project and for as long as tax law requires for invoices.
The client portal
The portal at app.kohulabs.com is for invited clients. You sign in with Google: Google tells us your name and email address, we check the address is on the invitation list, and we set a signed session cookie. We don’t store your sign-in in a database. Google handles the sign-in under its own privacy policy. Legal basis: providing the service in our contract with your organisation.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the portal to work, so no consent banner is needed:

Who else handles data for us
Cloudflare (hosting and security), Google (portal sign-in) and our email provider. Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area; when they do, it is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We never sell personal data.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy. Email hello@kohulabs.com and we’ll answer within a month. You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD.
Changes
If this changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
